Keep rolls of this cookie dough wrapped in your freezer - bake fresh for a taffy flavored treat!
Sift together flour, salt, and soda.
Cream butter and brown sugar.
Add molasses, egg, and orange rind and beat until light and fluffy.
Blend in sifted dry ingredients and pecans.
Shape dough into two rolls or bars about 3 inches in diameter.
Wrap in wax paper and chill several hours.
Cut dough into 1/8 inch slices.
Place on a greased baking sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
