Back in the Saddle
Sometimes, the tides of life get the better of you. Despite your best intentions, you need to step back from some meaningful tasks in your life to keep your head above water. In fact, when I started thinking about writing this post, the infamous words of Robert Burns poem “To a Mouse” immediately came to mind: “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.”
The road to my life has always been grounded in family, and my tribe needed me: blogging had to take a bit of a back burner to other events in my life. Such are the paths of one’s life. Sometimes we need to take a brief detour to the rest area on our life’s interstate – to rejuvenate, nourish and relieve ourselves, and reawaken before getting on with our journey. Thus was the summer season of my life this year.
Now, with the changing of the leaves, the cooling of the air, and the shortening of the days, the tide too has shifted. Child #1 has moved back to FarmVegas over the summer and is working full time as a teacher (YAY!), child #2 has made us grandparents (which is amazing and shocking at the same time as I feel WAY too young to be a grandmother – I go by Tita BTW), the Resident Grinch is his regular Grinchy self hating Algebra II (but loving band), and Littlest Man is over his summer hurdles and hitting third grade like a ROCK STAR!
Even though I have been silent for a few months, my blog wheels have been churning, and there are some awesome posts in the works. You can expect to see regular blog posts again, as well as a giveaway you are not going to want to miss (my next planned post)!
Here is to the changing season’s of one’s life, and the roads that lead us home!
Glad you’re back! I hope you had an awesome summer! I’m not quite ready to let summer go yet!
Thanks Joyce! I am super excited about the next post I am working on — you are going to LOVE it!!!!!
