Free-rollin’ Friday – Resident Grinch Choice
As luck of the dice would have it, the resident Grinch had high roll this week and was in charge of planning our Free-rollin Friday Funday. Despite our fears that we would be stuck in the house watching him “game”, he talked with the Event Planner Extraordinaire (Child #1) and surprised us all by sending us ….
To Mexican in Appomattox for lunch! We normally travel East when we do things, but since LIttlest Man had to head to Holiday Lake 4-H CLoverbud Camp for the weekend, we needed to head west today. We plugged in the address and our adventure began…

We loved the ambiance – especially the clay and stained glass lights (even if the Grinch still didn’t change his facial expression) …
I wish I had pictures of our food … but we were all too hungry to wait for me to get any photos! We all dug in as soon as the plates arrived, and the lack of photos speaks to how well we enjoyed our meal. 🙂 Littlest Man got a Mexican Hot dog (a hot dog wrapped in a tortilla and deep-fried – what 7 year old could turn that down?!?!) and fries, the Resident Grinch got soft Chicken Tacos with Rice and Beans, Event Planner Extraordinaire had the Shrimp Fajitas (we LOVED that they added zucchini), and I had the Grilled Catfish with steamed veggies and Guacamole (still working on the lchf/keto ya know….).
After lunch, we let the Garmin lead us to our main adventure, located in Lynchburg, VA … FUNQUEST! This was our first trip here, but we will

checking in – those awesome PVC pipe things in the background are on wheels to help you learn how to skate – BRILLIANT!!!
most DEFINITELY be heading back! There is so much to do here, and for a great price, that our tribe stayed busy for hours and didn’t want to leave! We used our BOGO coupon (on their website) and off we went to …
… skating …
… a playground …
… and LASER TAG!!!!!
By the end of our day, even the Resident Grinch rough exterior cracked!
My whole intent for our Free-rollin’ Fridays was to build some wonderful memories with my little boys before they aren’t little anymore; memories that they will carry with them for the rest of their days as they travel down their own roads of life. So far – we are off to an awesome start!
Love this!!
You know — if it weren’t a 19 hour drive one way I would use one of my dice rolls to road trip your way!!!! 🙂
Totally awesome! Well done!
Thanks Joyce — can’t wait to see where the dice will take us next week!
