Whole 30 Day 34 – Now What?!?!?!
With the passing of January 2017, so ends my #Whole30 Challenge! Back on Day 23, I mentioned all the non-scale victories I already noticed. However, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t dying to get on the scale on day 31!!! So — what were the number results on Day 31?
- Weight = down 11 pounds! 🙂
- Chest = down 2 1/4 inches!
- Waist = down 4 inches!
- Hips = down 3 1/2 inches!
- Right thigh = down 2 3/4 inches!
- Right Arm = down 3/4 inches!
- Neck = down 1/2 inches!
That is a total of 11 pounds and 13 3/4 inches in 31 days! Without being on a diet, OR weighing food or portion sizes, OR counting calories or carbs or points!!!
The non-scale victories are SO TOTALLY worth it! The two biggest that I was hoping for, and experienced, were fewer issues/better control of my asthma and allergies, and less inflammation/joint pain. Even with out family’s game of hot potato with the wicked winter respiratory virus we couldn’t seem to shake, I saw MAJOR improvements in both of these areas!
So — where do I go from here? In a perfect world, I would have followed my original plan and done the slow reintroduction of the foods I eliminated for 30 days (you can hear what is coming next though can’t you????). However, in a moment of insanity, I went a bit wild on day 34 and 35, and started to reign it back in on Day 36. Here it is – the morning of Day 37, and I realize that I don’t have to go, “Oh well, all of that work for nothing” and throw in the towel. No sirree – this is just what Food Freedom talks about with a food slip up! So despite my brilliant best laid plan, I am going back to the Whole 30 rules for a week or two, and THEN doing the slow reintroduction. The difference this time is I KNOW certain foods are going to trigger a major down slide for me so I want too be doubly cautious when I test them out (you know who you are cheese and wine…..)
Congratulations on your success.
Thanks Aunt Viv!!!!! 🙂
